Flanders and Binche Lace 2025
with Annick Staes
Following last year’s very successful course, Annick Staes, the international renowned designer, author and tutor will return in April 2025 to teach Flanders and Binche Lace making techniques.
Two courses in a new format each of four days, designed for all ability levels, the experienced lacemaker who wishes to be introduced to Flanders or Binche lacemaking techniques or those who wish to build upon their existing skills.
Course numbers are restricted to a maximum of twelve people enabling Annick to provide individual attention, tailoring the course content to your individual need and previous lacemaking experience. We guarantee that you will learn something new and have a great deal of fun in the process as well as enjoying the superb facilities and comfort that our venue offers.
YOUR COURSE INCLUDES
Over four days a minimum of twenty-four hours tuition structured by Annick towards meeting your objectives whilst learning at your own pace.
A copy of the appropriate Flanders or Binche Lace technique book written by Annick.
Free access to our pattern library.
Each course provides you with a two-course buffet lunch on days one, two and three. Refreshments throughout the day, and a three-course buffet dinner, bed, and breakfast on three nights for residential student’s.
Accommodation is in a modern ground floor room with ensuite facilities.

A three-star modern Hotel in the market town of Newport Pagnell, with great facilities and accommodation. The hotel is currently undertaking a six-month, million-pound refurbishment of its 140 bedrooms.
Harben House is a venue that is accustomed to hosting textile craft workshopis and retreats.
Centrally located under two miles from the M1 junction 14 adn four miles from Central Milton Keynes and its West Coastline railway station, providing rapid access to London Euston, the Midlands, the North and Scotland.
Local museums at Olney (6 miles), Bedford (14 miles), and Luton (23 miles) hold extensive collections of Lace, some of which are of national importance. If you have the time, they are worth a visit.
