>Flanders lace Course No 2 by Annick Staes is the second in the series of Annick’s books teaching the basics of Flanders Lace.
It shows the basic stitches for Flanders and Binche lace, and includes some lovely filling stitches (small and large Snowflakes) that are used in both Flanders and Binche lace Patterns. It has 6 carefully graded patterns, leading you through combining stitches in ever greater complexity.
the Patterns are on 3 separate sheets at the back of the book. Mostly there are diagrams to follow rather than descriptions, but the wording that there is is in English.
The patterns have delightful traditional names such as Clogs, Meander, Cardinals Hats, and Flower Pots.
The patterns use from 18 to 36 pairs of bobbins, and although it is preferable to use Duchess or Bruge bobbins you can make make Flanders lace with the UK East Midland bobbins.
