Torchon Lace Scarf pattern no 5 has a wavy edge and the central motif is a large attractive Butterfly. It would be easy to convert this pattern into an interesting wall hanging or a table runner. By working a butterfly at each end and using plain ground in the middle. The butterfly is worked in whole stitch and the surrounding area is made of whole stitch ground. The wavy edge gives this scarf a distinctive appearance. Use a contrasting or variegated thread to make the butterfly, it will then stand out. You could also use a contrasting or toning thread for the wavy edge. If you have a basic knowledge of torchon you should be able to follow the diagrams given in the pattern for this scarf.
